Aoshima, Ehime prefecture, September 4 2015 - Abandonned houses in Aoshima island. Due to Japan demographic problem and rural exodus, the population decreased from 800 residents in the 1960ies to 15 in 2015.<br />
Aoshima (Ao island) is one of the several « cat islands » in Japan. Due to the decreasing of its poluation, the island now host about 6 times more cats than residents.
